flight of the butterfly, rising free
This ring on my finger
I can’t seem to take it off
So many wonderful days
Alive in the vows that we made and kept
A calming moment
Sitting on a concrete bench
The stillness broken only
By the songs of the birds in the trees overhead
As he opened his eyes to this new morning, he smiled a bit. Life was getting a little better most every day for the small and quiet Nate. He breathed in a breath of the air that was always abundant. Warm and a little moist today, it seemed to quickly remove the final vestiges of sleep. This would be another wonderful day of lessons for Nate.
Like the past several mornings, Nate wondered for an instant if he was really so utterly blessed as he seemed to remember yesterday. Not too many yesterdays ago, Nate's existence was not quite so full as the past few. He slid out of bed onto his knees on the hard and cold floor. A prayer to thank the power of life for sustaining him through another night, and a petition for help feeling close throughout the day. Nate had no doubt why his life had turned around. He reminded himself often.
As he drifted back to a wakeful state of gentle peace, Nate wondered if she were awake yet. Would he dare call so early and risk waking her? No. Better to let her sleep. Better to try and think of her first. This was one of the early truths he had learned in his walk in the place beyond words and thoughts and light and darkness.
To find peace within, we first become centered on the power of the source of creation, then we learn to center on all others created. Only after these two, can we focus on the true self, the risen self, rather than the selfish mind that thinks and shudders and doubts. The risen self is without doubt and without need and without separation.
Source and destination
Watcher and watched
Dancer and dance
All in wondrous love
As Nate allowed the dance to begin, he smiled into the fullness of this new and precious day of grace and divinity.
