Love Letter to Lavender Lady

May 22, 2007

I sit here a bit speechless as I search for the perfect words to express the depth and breadth of the love I share with you, Joddy. I've turned on some pleasingly peaceful classical music, featuring a beautiful violin solo. It speaks a language not comprehensible by the mind, but instead felt in the heart. From the ear through the mind through the heart to the center of the soul. Your words, likewise, flow to and through me, dear lover. You move me, inspire me, fill me. My mind's ear remembers your expressions of love to me. My heart remembers, too.

As my thoughts turn to the time when our love was fresh and new, I smile at the beauty of the courtship, the dance, the romance. There were more than a few moments that were not free of anxiety, of course, but the power of truth in our love surmounted them all. In you, I walked and learned and grew. With you, I spun and danced and yearned. Through you, I touched and lived and burned. In you, I wept and felt and knew. Hope blossomed, my sweet and fragrant lilac, and love grew to a glorious and divine bloom.

As we fly together in sacred oneness, we also walk together in the daily lessons of life and humanity. Each and every day, my love for you expands and glows more brightly. Each and every day brings new joys and bliss and sanctification. Each and every day, as one in each other and in God, we share the sacred and perfect love that flows from the source of all life and power and might.

Your acceptance of my humble proposal to be my one, my only, my forever, my life, my love, my partner, my wife, has surely filled me with a jubilant stream of bliss that few have experienced. I am so very grateful to be blessed by your choice to be married to me, Joddy. I thank God each and every day for your overwhelming presence and his infinite grace.

I vow, my love, to be faithful and true and loving and kind and patient and present and real and complete with you. Let us live happily ever after in the grace of the divine love of God.

I love you.
