Thankfulness flows
from the one who remembers;
he walked in the great misery,
the bold suffering of his heart.

Inviting Vast Miracles

April 30, 2007

I've had miracles on my mind for several weeks now, inviting a new poem to be conceived from that deepest source that sings to me. A dear friend suggested this topic in a blog comment a while back.

While the Course teaches that there is no order of magnitude in miracles, and I believe this at a deep theoretical level, it seems that the perception of most of us humans creates a different reality from a practical standpoint.

To create or facilitate or invite vast miracles requires vast faith. We long for perfect faith, while realizing and accepting we may not achieve it here in this earthly realm. Seems that the higher our faith, and the closer to divine Truth we dwell, the further we exist from those of lower faith. Perhaps this is one of the reasons Jesus said we needed to leave our roots to join him.

I had a wonderful friend and teacher a while back who taught me that "it takes a long time to turn an aircraft carrier." My mind is the captain; God is the admiral; my life is the ship. After I've come to an understanding of some new layer of truth, a little time is required for that new truth to become manifest in my life.

Perhaps part of faith is in bridging the gap between request and answer, between now and later, between the moment of petition and the instant of grace.
