Chapter 3 - Unknown Visitor

December 18, 2006

(an orphaned project)

Sam saw the lights through the large window of the cabin at the end of
the narrow private road. The flames of the several candles flickered
and made it difficult to see clearly. Yet, still, he was sure it was
her. Though they'd never met in person, Sam had known her for what
felt like forever. Her form was unmistakable.

Stopping near the front door, Sam zipped his coat and grabbed his hat
from the seat beside him. An instant of hesitation, and he might well
decide this was not such a good idea after all. Should I have come in
the morning? Should I have called first? Will she feel this is an
intrusion? An invasion? Sam willed the voices of reason to hush. He
reminded himself that it was Jane. All would be well.

Approaching the front door, he smiled inwardly. Such love he felt for
her. He had felt it since that very first encounter. He stopped at the
door and knocked.
